Feeding - aerating:

Many thousands of years ago a glacier pan slid across most of North America, compacting the soil to only a few feet under which lies a bedrock of very hard clay. This type of soil, combined with construction, unhindered rain, and changes in the water table can often result in leached out soil (Soil that does not contain the proper levels of macro and micro nutrients required to support large vegetation), or soil that is so firm the root hairs on trees' roots cannot grow through it in search of air, water and food. Such conditions often result in sickly looking trees, or weakened immune systems which make trees susceptible to terminal pathogens. If your trees are not looking well, our arborists will more than likely find the cause and then prescribe a variety of treatments ranging from micro injection to aerating, to the deep root injection of endo and ecto micorhizaes. Knowledge of tree and plant anatomy and pathology is essential in cases like this and the problems causing the trees' condition are usually quite obvious to the trained arborist. Some of our arborists specialize in this field alone and have been getting good results for twenty years in the Seattle area. It might be a good idea to consult an Apex Arborist before you allow unnecessary nitrogen applications or the spraying of toxic systemics which seems to be widely practiced by "tree surgeons" who do not understand plant anatomy.
We will be happy to diagnose your trees free of charge!
